I’m so sad that this series had to end but it was one helluva ride. With unforgettable characters striving to survive in a world like no other, this book was filled with heart-pounding non-stop action. The characters in this series have earned a special place in my heart.

Penryn – oh how I love this fiery heroine who will jump through the gates of hell to save her family. I also can’t get enough of Raffe – such a fierce warrior and honorable protector right down to the end. With this being the last book in the series, we were given everything then some. There were so many obstacles that Penryn and Raffe had to overcome that I couldn’t possibly imagine how they would fare in the end with the impossible choices they faced.

There are so many amazing characters in this series especially Penryn’s mom. That woman kept me entertained!  I’m content with how Penryn’s story played out but I will say that I was expecting a little more with the ending. After I turned the last page, I was like - “That’s it.” So, I guess I have to let my imagination fill in the blanks but it’s all good. I’m going to miss this series but I can’t wait to see what Susan Ee writes next.
