She is the greatest assassin her world has ever known.
But where will her conscience, and her heart, lead her?
After a year of hard labor in the Salt Mines of Endovier, eighteen-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien has won the king's contest to become the new royal assassin. Yet Celaena is far from loyal to the crown – a secret she hides from even her most intimate confidantes.Keeping up the deadly charade—while pretending to do the king's bidding—will test her in frightening new ways, especially when she's given a task that could jeopardize everything she's come to care for. And there are far more dangerous forces gathering on the horizon — forces that threaten to destroy her entire world, and will surely force Celaena to make a choice. Where do the assassin’s loyalties lie, and who is she willing to fight for?
Throne of Glass was one of my favorite reads of 2012. It was
one of those novels that you devour. So, I had great expectations for Crown of
Midnight and the anticipation was enough to make me go stir crazy. To say the
least, Crown of Midnight did not disappoint. I gobbled this novel up like there
was no tomorrow.
Everyone knows I like strong heroines and Celaena has become
one of my all-time favorite heroines. She could kick your ass from ten ways to
Sunday. Celaena went through a complete
transformation and retribution was imminent. I would break my neck trying to cross the
street if I saw her coming. Sarah gave me everything I could want in this book
and more. The characters in this series are unforgettable and the action and mystery
kept me on the edge of my seat. I was glad
to see a different side a Celaena. I have
to mention Dorian and Chaol. These men are loveable in their own way and I
can’t wait to see where their paths will lead in the next book.
There were surprises around every corner and some mind
boggling revelations. This series is a must read. I would recommend it to
anyone who will listen. If you haven’t started this series yet, now’s the time
to jump aboard. With a well-crafted plot, unforgettable characters, and kickass
action, you won’t be disappointed.

Yay! Glad to see you post. Love your review. I'm waiting for this to come in at the library. I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteSarah J.Maas has delivered a very entertaining title that lives up to every aspect of a reader's expectation. Crown of Midnight is a bigger and better sequel to Thrown of glass and that's saying something!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read this one. Celaena really is a badass!
