Most Anticipated Read of April 2015

I know we all count down the days when the next installment in a favorite series, a new author debut or just a new release from a favorite author hits the bookstores. In my case, ebooks as I'm in love with my kindle.

There are many books that I can't wait to read but if I had to choose one - I know it's hard, just take a look at my Monthly Craves - I would have to say that I'm most looking forward to getting my hands on:

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
Publisher: Penguin Young Readers Group
Publication date: 04/28/2015
Age range: 14 - 17 Years

I WILL TELL YOU THE SAME THING I TELL EVERY SLAVE. THE RESISTANCE HAS TRIED TO PENETRATE THIS SCHOOL COUNTLESS TIMES. I HAVE DISCOVERED IT EVERY TIME. IF YOU ARE WORKING WITH THE RESISTANCE, IF YOU CONTACT THEM, IF YOU THINK OF CONTACTING THEM, I WILL KNOW AND I WILL DESTROY YOU.Laia is a slave.
Elias is a soldier.
Neither is free.

Under the Martial Empire, defiance is met with death. Those who do not vow their blood and bodies to the Emperor risk the execution of their loved ones and the destruction of all they hold dear.

It is in this brutal world, inspired by ancient Rome, that Laia lives with her grandparents and older brother. The family ekes out an existence in the Empire’s impoverished backstreets. They do not challenge the Empire. They’ve seen what happens to those who do.

But when Laia’s brother is arrested for treason, Laia is forced to make a decision. In exchange for help from rebels who promise to rescue her brother, she will risk her life to spy for them from within the Empire’s greatest military academy.

There, Laia meets Elias, the school’s finest soldier—and secretly, its most unwilling. Elias wants only to be free of the tyranny he’s being trained to enforce. He and Laia will soon realize that their destinies are intertwined—and that their choices will change the fate of the Empire itself.

This is what one of my favorite authors quoted about this book and after reading it, I have a feeling it's going to be one of my favorites.

“I was so engrossed with this book that I missed a connecting flight. If that doesn’t convince you to read An Ember in the Ashes, I don’t know what will. An explosive, heartbreaking, epic debut that will keep you glued to the pages. I hope the world’s ready for Sabaa Tahir.”—Marie Lu, New York Times bestselling author of the Legend trilogy and The Young Elites
