Spotlight: The Darkest Sunrise by Aly Martinez & The Idea of You by Robinne Lee

I'm back from vacation and I had a wonderful time with the family in Gatlinburg, TN. There's so much to do there and I can't wait to visit again. I was able to get some reading in but not much.

I did want to share two books that I got a chance to read and I adored the heck out of these books.

If you haven't had a chance to read them, please check them out. I can't get these books out of my head.

The Darkest Sunrise by Aly Martinez
Publisher: Createspace
Publish Date: 7/13/17
Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me.Whoever coined that phrase is a bald-faced liar. Words are often the sharpest weapon of all, triggering some of the most powerful emotions a human can experience.“You’re pregnant.”“It’s a boy.” “Your son needs a heart transplant.”Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me.Lies.Syllables and letters may not be tangible, but they can still destroy your entire life faster than a bullet from a gun.Two words—that was all it took to extinguish the sun from my sky.“He’s gone.” For ten years, the darkness consumed me.In the end, it was four deep, gravelly words that gave me hope of another sunrise. “Hi. I’m Porter Reese.

This book is unforgettable and gives all the feels. I fell in love with these characters and I just wanted everything to be all roses but life has a way of throwing curveballs. I couldn't stop thinking about this book when I finished. Lucky me, book 2 hit the shelves July 27, 2017. I 'm currently reading it right now and loving it.

The Idea of You by Robinne Lee
Publisher: St. Martin's Griffin
Publish Date: 6/13/17
When Solène Marchand, the thirty-nine-year-old owner of a prestigious art gallery in Los Angeles, takes her daughter, Isabelle, to meet her favorite boy band, she does so reluctantly and at her ex-husband’s request. The last thing she expects is to make a connection with one of the members of the world-famous August Moon. But Hayes Campbell is clever, winning, confident, and posh, and the attraction is immediate. That he is all of twenty years old further complicates things.
What begins as a series of clandestine trysts quickly evolves into a passionate relationship. It is a journey that spans continents as Solène and Hayes navigate each other’s disparate worlds: from stadium tours to international art fairs to secluded hideaways. And for Solène, it is as much a reclaiming of self, as it is a rediscovery of happiness and love. When their romance becomes a viral sensation, and both she and her daughter become the target of rabid fans and an insatiable media, Solène must face how her new status has impacted not only her life, but the lives of those closest to her.
This book was quite unexpected in such a great way. I can't express how much I enjoyed reading this book. This book could be considered one of those "taboo" reads but when you think about how it is in hollywood, I guess things are different. I could definitely see this happening.
