Once again, Snyder continues to amaze me with the world that she’s created. It’s unlike any setting that I’ve read. It’s refreshing and the more I read her books the more I fall in love with her world. She has crafted a beautiful setting with wonderful characters that will keep you turning the pages in the wee hours of the night.
Sea Glass picks up were Storm Glass left off with a turn of events going from good to bad in a drop of a coin. Opal goes through a complete transformation in this book and I enjoyed seeing the stages of her growth throughout this book. Snyder gives us more unexpected twists and turns in Sea Glass and I’m so happy about one in particular that we get to see at the end of the book but I’ll keep it to myself because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone.
Snyder did grace us with some of our favorite characters from the Study Series again and I have to say that Janco is one of mine. He had me cracking up in this book and I can only hope that I will get to see more of him in the future along with some of the Study Series cast. Kade has grown on me tremendously since Storm Glass and I’m excited to see what the future has in store for him.
If you are looking for a magical setting away from Vampires, Werewolves and Fairies, I think you should take a chance on this series. It will totally knock your socks off!
I have heard tons of great reviews of this book. Yours too is a great review. I like that it is a break from the regular paranormal creatures. I will be watching for both books from this author.

ReplyDeleteYou know what I did miss in this series, though? The horses. I want to know what name they have for Opal! I missed having someone around who could talk to them.

ReplyDeleteGreat review!! I love Maria's books too! Her world is so...enchanting. The setting is so wonderful for an "enchanted" world. I just loved it! And I am sooo glad that Janco returns more in Sea Glass, I missed him...and his rhymes! He cracks me up. I literally lol when I read his lines! Luckily I was at home when I read this one so no one heard me! ;)
ReplyDeleteSo glad that her next glass book comes out NEXT year instead of the 2011 that the book says. That freaked me out. Had to talk to Maria to make sure that it was a goof!
I still have yet to get my hands on Storm Glass! AH! I may just have to go and buy it!

ReplyDeleteI have read this book and all her others in the series and I absolutely love it. I was soooo happy Janco came back, and I agree with you. I thought Yelena was going to tell Opal her horse name and it was going to be really meaningful, like it described her whole life in a name. This and the Study Series is my current favorite series and EVERYONE should read the series.
